The Directors of Canada One Family Network take great pleasure to invite you to celebrate with us on our 3rd Annual “Age of Literati” Cultural Festival for 2018 in the City of Markham, funded in part by Celebrate Markham and Heritage Canada. This unique celebration consists of 4 main events.

  • “YaYue or Elegant Gathering” which is a gathering of equals, tea ceremony, art exhibition, a poetry recital and ancient cultural and traditional songs accompanied by ancient instruments with a seminar;

  • The Opening Ceremony with VIP recognition;

  • A special gala concert performance event at the Markham Flato Theatre with highly accredited artistes and performers;

  • A celebration of food – a tasting and sampling event of traditional and cultural foods from the surrounding local restaurants, sponsors with traditional culture and contemporary entertainment.

This festival brings to the Canadian public the great cultural developments present in ancient China during the thousands of years of the existence of the Literati and is in acknowledgement of the long and rich history of Chinese Canadians’ multicultural contributions to the heritage of Canada. This is a great opportunity for Canadians to savour the richness of their cultural heritage contributing to the growth and prosperity of this great land, Canada.

One and all are graciously invited to join us. As we present performances including: uplifting classic and traditional orchestra music, poetry recital, opera, traditional dance, art exhibition, delicious food sampling and enjoy our tea ceremony. We expect 3000 to 5000 people will come and enjoy the power of knowledge through entertainment within the era of China’s renowned Literati.
