Over the past seven years, Canada One Family Network has collaborated with communities in the GTA to introduce literature, performing arts, and traditional Literati culture. Through media promotion, cultural performances, art exhibitions, and cultural education, the center fosters awareness and respect for the arts in multicultural communities.
The Community Open House Event featured vibrant celebrations, including a lion dance by the Lat Yip Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe. Esteemed guests like MPP Aris Babikian, Toronto Councillor Nick Manta, and Markham Councillors Isa Lee and Amanda Yeung Collucci participated in the traditional lion eye-dotting ceremony alongside YanYan Zhu, Chair of the Canada One Family Network, and Ma Huijie, President of the Chinese Language and Culture Association.
Performances included energetic dances and martial arts by children from Happy Dance School and Clear Pine Taekwondo, Tai Chi demonstrations by the Tai Chi Rhythmic Wellness Center, and original music by Cory and Nana from the Awesome Music Center. Renowned calligraphy artists demonstrated their skills, inspiring the community's youth.
The Sound Resonance Summer Music Concert featured a blend of traditional and contemporary music by the Hongfeng Chinese Orchestra and the Ontario Arts Association of Canada, with exceptional performances by musicians and professional instructors from the center.
Thanks to support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, COFN will expand online educational resources and continue offering diverse programs in traditional Chinese music, arts, and sports.
