Canada One Family Network Presents “Brilliant Arts” — 10th Age of Literati Cultural Festival Grand Opening at Markham Civic Centre

Markham, October 25, 2025 — To promote the spirit of literati culture and preserve the beauty of traditional Chinese poetry and classical literature, the 10th Age of Literati Cultural Festival, hosted by Canada One Family Network (COFN) with support from the Department of Canadian Heritage, Government of Ontario, and the City of Markham, was officially opened today at Markham Civic Centre at 11:00 AM.


This year’s festival, themed “Brilliant Arts,” is a unique celebration featuring performing arts, art exhibitions, poetry recitation, and arts contests. The event acknowledges the long and rich history of Asian Canadians and their significant multicultural contributions to Canada’s artistic and cultural heritage.


The grand opening featured the book launch of the English translation of Selected Poems by Tang Poet Xue Tao, co-authored by Professor John Warden of the University of Toronto and Mr. Dai Daqi, Chinese teacher at the York Region District School Board. The launch coincided with the opening of the themed art exhibition, attracting numerous artists, literary scholars, and enthusiasts of calligraphy and painting.

“輝煌藝術”主题 —— 第十屆《文人時代》文化藝術節在万锦市政府隆重开幕

【万锦讯】为弘扬文人精神，传承中华传统诗词与古典文学艺术，由加拿大一同家園文化中心（Canada One Family Network）主办、加拿大国家文化遗产部、安大略省政府及万锦市政府支持的第十屆《文人時代》（AGE OF LITERATI）文化藝術節，于2025年10月25日上午11时在万锦市政府隆重开幕。

本届艺术节以“輝煌藝術（Brilliant Arts）”为主题，内容丰富多彩，包括表演艺术、艺术展览、诗词朗诵及艺术竞赛等多项活动，旨在彰显亚裔加拿大人悠久而深厚的文化历史，以及他们在推动加拿大多元文化艺术遗产中的重要贡献。

现场同时举行了由多伦多大学终身教授 John Warden与约克区教育局中文教师戴大器**合著的《唐代诗人薛涛诗选英译本》新书发布会，以及主题艺术展开幕式，吸引了众多艺术家、文学与书画爱好者前来共襄盛举。

« Arts Brillants » — 10e Festival Culturel AGE OF LITERATI au Centre civique de Markham

Markham, le 25 octobre 2025

— Pour promouvoir l’esprit des lettrés et préserver la poésie et la littérature classiques chinoises, le 10e Festival Culturel AGE OF LITERATI, organisé par le Canada One Family Network (COFN) avec le soutien du ministère du Patrimoine canadien, du gouvernement de l’Ontario et de la Ville de Markham, a été inauguré solennellement au Centre civique de Markham à 11 h.

 Le festival de cette année, placé sous le thème « Brilliant Arts » (Arts Brillants), présente un programme riche et varié comprenant des spectacles artistiques, des expositions d’art, des récitations de poésie et divers concours artistiques. Il vise à mettre en valeur l’histoire culturelle longue et profonde des Canadiens d’origine asiatique ainsi que leurs contributions importantes au patrimoine artistique et multiculturel du Canada.  

Le festival, sous le thème « Arts Brillants », a présenté le lancement du livre Traduction anglaise des poèmes choisis de la poétesse des Tang Xue Tao, coécrit par le professeur John Warden de l’Université de Toronto et Dai Daqi, enseignant de chinois au conseil scolaire de la région de York, ainsi que l’ouverture d’une exposition d’art thématique. L’événement a attiré de nombreux artistes, érudits et amateurs de calligraphie et de peinture.
